Connect Your Crypto & Brokerage Accounts

Synci has always been about owning your financial data: fetching it, transforming it, and sending it where you want. Until now that meant your banks. Now it means more.

We've partnered with SnapTrade to bring your crypto exchanges and investment brokerages into Synci. Connect Coinbase, Binance, Kraken, Interactive Brokers, Questrade, Alpaca and many others alongside your bank connections, then send that data straight into YNAB, Lunch Money, Zapier, or your own integrations.

Crypto & Brokerage Connections

Connecting works the same way you're used to. Pick your institution, complete the secure connection flow, and Synci handles the rest.

  • Brokerages: Stock, ETF, options and retirement accounts (IRA, Roth, TFSA, and more).

  • Crypto exchanges: Your exchange balances and activity.

  • Global coverage: No regional restrictions, so you can connect from anywhere.

Every institution is now tagged as a Bank, Brokerage, or Crypto account, so you can tell at a glance what you're looking at.

Holdings

Synci now shows your portfolio holdings, a live snapshot of every position you hold, displayed right in your dashboard.

  • Symbols and tickers for both stocks and crypto, like AAPL and BTC.

  • Asset class, whether that's a stock, ETF, option, mutual fund, fixed income, or cryptocurrency.

  • Quantity, last price, and market value, plus your average purchase price where your broker provides it.

  • Currency and a last-synced time on every holding.

Holdings update automatically on every sync, and they're also available through the API if you want to pull them into something of your own.

Investment Activity, Everywhere You Already Sync

Your trades and transfers flow to your destinations through Transfer Links, just like your bank transactions.

  • Buys, sells, dividends, interest, contributions, withdrawals, fees, stock splits, and crypto sends and receives all sync automatically.

  • Each one gets a clear, readable payee like "Buy BTC", "AAPL Dividend", or "Receive ETH", so your budget reads naturally.

  • Account balances sync too. For investment accounts that's your total portfolio value, cash plus positions. Link to Lunch Money in balance mode and Synci automatically excludes the asset from transactions so nothing gets double-counted.

"Bank Accounts" Are Now "Financial Accounts"

Since Synci is no longer just about banks, we've renamed bank accounts to financial accounts across the app and API. Nothing about your existing connections changes, they're simply relabeled, and you can now filter your accounts and connections by type and provider.

Existing bank/* API endpoints are still functional, so there are no breaking changes.

Reconnecting Made Easy

SnapTrade connections support reauthorization. If a connection ever breaks, you can reconnect in a couple of clicks, and your accounts, Transfer Links, and rules all stay intact.

A Few Things to Know

  • Account rules (the kind that permanently modify transactions in Synci) aren't available on SnapTrade accounts yet, but Transfer Link rules work as normal during sync.

  • Transaction enrichment doesn't apply to investment activity, since trades don't carry merchant data.

  • Holdings are a current snapshot, not a historical timeline.

  • After connecting, your accounts and balances populate in the background and may take a few seconds to appear.
